Something I never thought could happen, happened. Moving from place to place to see incredible creations of G-d and man, meeting people from every corner of the globe, and experiencing that which I never knew to exist… all became tiring and boring.

A Rabbi in Lima, Peru made me an offer: “Help out a bit at the Chabad House in exchange for food and a place to sleep.”

It is 4.00am, cold, and a few drunks are staggering out of the pubs. I walk with as much confidence as I think necessary to ward off any muggers. Thoughts are nagging me. I should have been in Greece at the European Juggling Convention. I should have taken the flight to Russia. I could have traveled through Ukraine and Poland. But I did not. I know that these thoughts only trouble me now that I feel refreshed with excitement. But one month ago I was tired of moving from place to place.

  1. I guess it wasn’t so boring after all, since a couple weeks later you met me! ;)
