Hi All

Belize City must be home to some of the spookiest looking people on this planet. Crack head junkies roam the streets making conversation with voices in their heads. The government officials are too busy stealing the country’s money to concern themselves with the setting up of rehab centres. Corruption at the highest level.

I left Belize City quickly to find peace and solitude on the small paradise of Cay Caulker: a tropical island where I can swing from a hammock and contemplate the serenity of nature under the shade of palm branches.

I sip on the sweet juice of a coconut wondering what the sharks think of us; half a dozen of them swimming along a massive wall 45 meters below the ocean’s surface. Their privacy invaded by humans wearing strange masks with steel tanks strapped to their backs.

I swim between overhanging pinnacles formed of coral, nitrogen narcosis has kicked in but still I think clearly enough to appreciate and realize the magnificent beauty of the underwater world.

Regards,

Ben-yamin
